When I was a young boy I would look up at the stars And dream of being a spaceman, and of traveling to mars And beyond, Or back in time to see some dinosaurs. And sometimes I’d pretend to be a soldier in a war, My friends and I would take turns feigning death in our backyard Battlefield, It didn’t matter what we were dying for. It’s the same old story, It’s the same old song; It’s a shame and it’s a glory, And it’s a long hard row to hoe. When I was a teen-age boy I thought I knew it all, I loved to play the rebel and to do things that would gall My mom and dad, And Pink Floyd spoke right to me from The Wall. And when I was a young man I learned to drink and drive, I became a pleasure addict as I continued to strive To kill the pain, It’s a wonder that I’m still alive. It’s the same old story, It’s the same old song; It’s a shame and it’s a glory, And it’s a long hard row to hoe. Now that I’m an older man you’d think that I’d be wise, But I’m still just a dreamer disillusioned by the lies We all believed, While the truth burned brightly right before our eyes. Looking up the road now I see darkness and strife, But still I hold on to my dreams because I know that life Will find a way, Sometimes it just calls for Mack the Knife. It’s the same old story, It’s the same old song; It’s a shame and it’s a glory, And it’s a long hard row to hoe.

Don't you know me, I'm just somebody like you, I'm just another face that's here to see you through. Don't you want me to come and take you away? To another place where you won't be afraid. Have you listened to the tale we've told, Absorbed the meaning, it is yours to hold. Ashes to ashes to ashes to dust, Take this with you if you feel you must. As I walk out into the blazing sun, I have but just one thing and it's not yet begun. Try to look into the eyes of the one you love, Then the clouds will part and you will see the sun. Have you listened to the tale we've told, Absorbed the meaning, it is yours to hold. Ashes to ashes to ashes to dust, Take this with you if you feel you must. Close your eyes now and look into the night, All your dreams await you've got to make it right. Free yourself from the bondage of your mind, Leave the worries of the world behind.

Well it was down by the river by the waterside, Me and my baby by my side. Well don't you know we had to go down where the tall rushes grow When out the muck and out of the slime, Just my luck it was an awful time. So baby see you later 'cause I have to go way down below, Never to go with the bubbles you know, Back in the sunshine. So if you go down below with this feeling tonight, Don't look over your shoulder you know, Well you might just catch a fright. Before I knew it, well I kind of blew it, thinking what was inside of me, So baby see you later 'cause I have to go way down below, Never to go with the bubbles you know, Back in the sunshine.

I am a Pump 05:48
There is a tiny crack in the corner of my basement where the water comes in when it rains, It would cover up the floor until I found a way to fix it with a wick and a tub for a drain, When the tub fills up I pour it into a bucket that I haul up the stairs to dump, And every time I do it get's me to thinking that by draining out my basement sump, I am a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. To get the job done and just to stay alive I have to eat and drink most every day, It keeps my body going just as long as it keeps flowing down a path that goes only one way, Through my gut and my blood and my heart and my lungs and my kidneys it goes in and out, Through my cells and organelles that split protons from electrons, the voltage is what it's about, I am a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. When a photon from the sun strikes floral chorophyll an electron and a proton split apart, So the chorophyll grabs an electron from a water to make oxygen and it's a start Of a complex evolution about finding a solution to maintain disequilibrium, So every time it rains I go downstairs to empty out my basement sump, I am a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump. I'm a pump.

Well you see me with my suitcase in my hand, Yeah you see me with my suitcase in my hand. I don't want to do the leaving, I'm just doing the best that I can. Well you tried to make me happy all the time, Yeah girl you tried to make me happy all the time. Now brother you do that to me, you know you're not a friend of mine. It's a long lonely highway all by yourself, Yes it's a long lonely highway all by yourself. But you know sometimes the travelling's easier without anybody's help. So you see me with my suitcase in my hand, Yeah girl you see me with my suitcase in my hand. I don't want to do the leaving, I'm just doing the best that I can.

I left the scene this morning at a quarter past 10, I may not get what how or why but I'm pretty good at knowing when It's time to go, now I'm on the road again, 'cause when it hits the fan, no you're not going to catch me downwind. Dr. Gonzo said "when the going gets weird the weird turn pro", Well that may be but as for me when things get weird I know It's time to go, got to ramble on again, 'cause when it hits the fan, no you're not going to catch me downwind. There's a pile of it on Wall Street and a big pile in Iraq, It's piling up in the atmosphere and there ain't no turning back It's time to go: turn on, tune in, and drop out again, 'cause when it hits the fan, no you're not going to catch me downwind. This party's been a blast you all, I've had a lot of fun, But things are getting out of hand so now I have to run It's time to go, got to get back home again, 'cause when it hits the fan, no you're not going to catch me downwind. Yeah when it hits the fan, no you're not going to catch me downwind. When the shit hits the fan, you're not going to catch me downwind.

Give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go. Man comes up to me and he asks me for a dime, I put my head down and keep on walkin', I just can't seem to find the time. Then I see that same old man in his cardboard shack, Livin' down by the railroad where the other poor people are at. Give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go. See that girl standing right next to you, Deep down inside you know you love each other through and through. Still we find all of that time to fuss and fight, Acting like we've got nothing better to do on a Saturday night. Give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go. Politician comes up to you, asks you for your vote. Well, we’re trying not to laugh in his face, you know how politics is a joke. They promise us that they're going to work for us after election day. They’re with the fat cats in the back rooms now. See how those crooks behave! Give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go, You've got to give a little bit before you go.

Heathen 06:25
I rejected God, that makes me a heathen. Despite that fact I go on breathin'. The things I do are what I am, I hope that makes me a better man. Tainted by the tribulation, Haunted by prognostication, Getting rated on a lifelong test, I won't know the score 'til I come to rest. Within' the heat the hinges creak, the devil steps inside, I let loose with the burning truth and the pain now subsides. Shedding the outer layers of myself, a new skin starts to form Underneath, beneath the sheath, a new reality is born. Tainted by the tribulation, Haunted by prognostication, Getting rated on a lifelong test, I won't know the score 'til I come to rest. Ecstasy fails to come about yet the world keeps on turning, The more I think about the things that are the more my brain keeps squirming, Looking, learning and seeing how to feel, Realizing that reality's not real. Haunted by the tribulation, Taunted by the population, Getting rated on a lifelong test, I won't know the score 'til I come to rest.

Maybe I'm dense but I'm having a hard time learning how to get along around here: Everywhere I turn I see a celebration of ignorance that reeks of fear. I always seem to piss a lot of people off whenever I speak my mind, They'd rather that I shut up and suffer fools gladly—might as well be deaf dumb and blind. Although it may be true, it's never safe to say that the emperor has no clothes; No one likes to find out that they've been played—I suppose that might explain my woes. Folks around here like to shoot the messenger, they're not very fond of change, And if you're a stranger, better keep it to yourself, because they'll just think you're strange. Yahoo, welcome to Yahooville! Yahoo! Yahoo, welcome to Yahooville! Yahoo! You can imagine how Alice must have felt when she fell down the rabbit hole, Keeping the virtues of reason and diplomacy certainly takes its toll When right is wrong, smart is dumb, and sanity is insane, You'd best lay low when the queen comes around if you want to hold onto your brain. Yahoo, welcome to Yahooville! Yahoo! Yahoo, welcome to Yahooville! Yahoo! What do you do when you find yourself washed up, a stranger in a strange land, Where the voice of reason is heard only by horses in a language you can't understand? Don't ask me, I haven't got the answer, the only thing I can say Is that I would find a way to join up with the herd, and do my best to learn how to neigh. Yahoo, welcome to Yahooville! Yahoo! Lost People 05:08
People wander aimlessly, lost between their ears, Deeply digging shallowness, avoiding all their fears. They put their hand in front of their face, The truth disappears without a trace. Not meaning to cause trouble, the blind man crosses now, Leading those who can see double, but can't seem to see just how, They put their hands in front of his face, The truth disappears without a trace. Scrapping thoughts of coherent meaning, grasping at the clouds, Understand words you find streaming, wrapped in tattered shrouds. You put your hands in front of your face, The truth disappears without a trace. A fog surrounds my inner mind, lost between all space and time, Failing while to clear my sight, I start to see but it's not right, I put my hands in front of my face, The truth disappears without a trace. Without a trace.... Without a trace... Without a trace.

Twilight 03:55
Did you ever imagine it would come to this? As we teeter at the edge of the abyss, Say good-bye to the grand illusion of unending progress That made it so easy to ignore the growing mess. One thing leads to another, forever closing doors along the way, And sometimes the choices that we make come back to haunt us at the end of the day. Remember the dream of spaceflight to the stars? In back to the future we drove flying cars, What a nice distraction that was from the endless war And the truth in Orwell's 1984. One thing leads to another, forever closing doors along the way, And sometimes the choices that we make come back to haunt us at the end of the day. Look out on the horizon: the perfect storm Is getting itself together and taking form, And pretty soon we'll all be toasty warm, No sweat, sooner or later we all buy the farm. One thing leads to another, forever closing doors along the way, And sometimes the choices that we make come back to haunt us at the end of the day.

Destiny of man is in the hands of fools, And if you look real close you'll see what you can do, The time has come for you and me to go, Take your body, your mind, and your soul, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is... Make yourself heard up above the din, Tell all the people the condition we're in, And one by one we will make our stand, Let the others step aside, the generic brand. The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is... People in power tell you it's all right, You wonder how they can go to sleep at night, The survival of society depends on you, Get your ass out in the street and see what you can do. The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is evolution, The only revolution is...

Evolution 04:16
Evolution, constitution, in solution arrange; It's creation, deviation, recombination: change. Energy, entropy, go with the flow. Evolution, convolution, constitution maintain; It's selection, from defection, and direction: change. Give us half a chance and we'll start to dance, look at us grow. Evolution, constitution, in solution arrange; It's creation, deviation, recombination: change. Give us half a chance and we'll start to dance, look at us grow.
