lyrics
Driving down the highway with the pedal to the floor,
I was feeling kind of down and in a funk about the war.
I noticed that my microbus was nearly out of gas,
When some jerk in a Hummer came a riding up my ass.
I felt my heartbeat pounding and the blood rush to my head,
And I stepped on the brakes when I started seeing red.
The fool nearly ran me down and blasted on his horn,
So I flipped him off and cursed the day that Henry Ford was born.
I found a filling station and pulled in to fill my tank,
When I saw the price of gasoline I wondered who to thank.
After emptying my wallet I fired my motor up again,
And as I drove on down the road I thought this ride has got to end.
This infernal combustion that makes everything go fast
Is burning to the wick and churning out the greenhouse gas.
Infernal combustion is what got us where we are,
But we may have driven down this road a little too far....
Uh-oh.
